Ceremonial Breathwork Offering at Heartfest

In partnership with Hearfest RVA, I will be offering ceremonial breathwork experience(s)!

Ceremonial Breathwork is an individual style of breath practice created around newly popular sacred plant medicine ceremonies from indigenous religions worldwide.  The BREATH is the medicine.  The experience incorporates Shamanic elements including the singing of “Icaro” (song of blessing), burning of Palos Santos, and Anointing of sacred oils allowing for the connection to nature, the spirit world, and universal oneness.

Because of these elements, it is a unique experience not to be missed and allows for deep gentle healing for your body, mind, and spirit.  This is deep work with time for integration before and after.  Participants state they have released years of "baggage" in one session.  Come discover what breathwork in the community is all about!

This offering is FREE!

Please bring your yoga mat and a blanket. You may also wish to bring a water bottle, eye cover, and journal for creative writing after.

BREATHWORK MAY HELP IN A NON-INVASIVE WAY WITH THE FOLLOWING:

~ Relieve stress & anxiety

~ Manage and treat depression

~ Help curb addictions

~ Eliminate toxins invoking weight loss

~ Strengthen mental focus

~ Heal physical & emotional wounds and traumas

~ Boost the immune system

~ Inspire creativity

~ Establish healthy sleep cycles

~ Manage PTSD

~ Reduce chronic pain

~ Create wellness to prevent cancer and other disease

~ Boost performance in business & athletics

Please know the gentle pranayam methods of Ceremonial Breathwork do not promote hyperventilation or re-traumatization unlike other form of breathwork such as holotropic or rebirthing allowing it, for the most part, to be non-invasive. HOWEVER, breathwork is not for everyone and you should consult your doctor first if you have a history of epileptic seizure, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, major cardiovascular issues, serious psychiatric symptoms, or a history of aneurysms. If you recently have had surgery and still have stitches or other medical or physical conditions which would impair your ability to breathe deeply and lay on your back on the floor for an hour then perhaps Ceremonial Breathwork is not for you.

Breathwork: Reconciliation, Heal the Inner Feminine & Masculine

Breathwork: Reconciliation, Heal the Inner Feminine & Masculine

Back by popular demand...

Yin & Yang, Black & White, Shakti & Shiva, Feminine & Masculine. We carry each of these principles innately; but, in Western society, we are rarely taught about our inner feminine and masculine. If you feel unbalanced and misunderstood in life, this may be why. The Feminine is feeling-based, poetic, and metaphorical, while the Masculine is more structured, linear, clear and direct. In totality, as a human, we hold energies of both inside of us but rigid stereotypical gender roles by society have kept us from acknowledging these principle until now...

In this class, you will be given the opportunity to learn about these two principles and participate in a meditation to embrace both within you. You then will be lead into a Ceremonial Breathwork session to re-connect, acknowledge and heal your inner relationship with your Yin & Yang. At the end of the session there will be a 15-30 minute integration to ground and a blessing to continue to share this teaching.

No previous breathwork experience necessary!

Breathwork at Chrysalis Institute

Ceremonial Breathwork is an individual style of breath practice created around popular sacred plant medicine ceremonies from indigenous religions worldwide. The BREATH is the medicine. The experience incorporates Shamanic elements including the singing of “Icaro” (song of blessing), burning of Palos Santos, and Anointing of scared oils allowing for the connection to nature, the spirit world, and universal oneness. Because of these elements it is a unique experience not to be missed and allows for deep gentle healing for your body, mind and spirit.

We begin with a welcome and share with intent for the session. You will then be taught the three part breath practice. During the practice you will lay in “savasana” or resting state and follow Melissa’s instruction with periods of breath retention enhanced with inspirational music in a safe and sacred space. At the end of the session there will be 15-30 minutes of integration when you may share your experience and allow for what is called grounding or “getting back into” the body after the practice has concluded.
